Awakening your Heart Through Anusara Yoga
Joyfully awaken your heart through Anusara Yoga. When your heart opens, you recognize your connection to source energy and realize that everything in life is conspiring on your behalf. Receive precise, skillful, and safe alignment techniques, and playfully explore a wide range of transformational postures.

 

Anusara Yoga Therapeutics
Explore the therapeutic power of Anusara Yoga to support the body's natural healing process. Through applying the Universal Principles of Alignment you will learn how to relieve pain and avoid common injuries. Focus will be given to feet, knees, pelvis, lower back, wrists, shoulders and neck as time allows. Learn how to transform pain and limitation into an experience of greater freedom and joy.

 

Intermediate Advanced Summer Anusara Yoga Retreat
Come join Todd for this special opportunity to deepen your practice while enjoying the warmth and beauty of summer. Playfully explore new asana terrain while building strength, endurance, and confidence. During this spiritually uplifting and transformational retreat, you will learn intermediate and advanced postures in all the categories of asana including standing postures, hand balances, inversions, hip openers, backbends, forward bends, and twists. Modifications and developmental steps for all advanced asanas will be given so you can enjoy working at your own pace. In addition, there will be opportunities to practice pranayama, meditation, and kirtan chanting. Through the safe and supportive environment, clear, heart-centered instructions, and support of the community, you will quickly establish your connection with your true self and your natural state of joy.

 

Cross-County Skiing & Yoga Retreat
Cross-county skiing is one of the best total-body, nonimpact aerobic exercises, and yoga is a superb way to prepare for it.  Youâll learn yoga postures to develop balance and weight transfer, plus practice meditation for calm and focus.  Then itâs off to the trails!  Professional coaches will lead clinics on proper technique and skills for both beginning and experienced skiers.  Youâll ski at your own pace on a trail suited to your ability.  Our staff will be available to offer additional support and tips.  Each day ends with yoga and a guided relaxation.  Youâll return home feeling strong, connected to your center, and refreshed by the beauty of a Berkshire winter. 

Note:  Equipment is available for an additional fee of $35 for the weekend.  It must be reserved in advance of your arrival.  Tuition includes ski trail pass. The program usually involves a trip to a ski center 30 minutes (or further if insufficient snow) away.

 

 

Partner Yoga
Stretch not only our body, but your relationship skills.  In this fun-filled invigorating weekend, you'll practice a series of doubles yoga poses where you balance, counter-balance and co create the posture; learn partner-assisted stretches, enabling you to stretch farther than you could on your own; and develop strength and flexibility while deepening your relationship skills ö trust, communication and fun. 

Note:  Bring a yoga partner to work with.  It can be a friend, family member, yoga buddy or your actual partner.

Three-Part Anusara Yoga Immersion Course with Todd Norian and Ann Greene 2007

Designed for aspiring teachers and yogis who want to deepen their practice, the Immersion will support you in awakening your heart and living a more meaningful and empowered life of freedom and joy. Through absorption in the life-affirming teachings of Anusara Yoga within a supportive community, you will joyously create a more vibrant body, radiant heart, and sharp mind as you integrate the deeper teachings of yoga.

During each module, you will dive deeply into the essence of the Anusara method in which the art of the human spirit powerfully blends with the science of biomechanics. You will learn the Universal Principles of Alignment in an in-depth, systematic way, explore the revelatory teachings of Tantra philosophy, and practice the subtle art of pranayama and meditation. Contemplation, journal writing, and a supportive and uplifting community will deepen your experience.

The course includes 3 Parts in the beautiful Berkshire mountains of western Massachusetts.

Holiday Anusara Yoga Retreat: Align With the Divine

Anusara means "flowing with grace", "following your heart". During this spiritually uplifting and transformational program you'll practice a variety of postures including Sun Salutations, standing poses, hand balances, hip openers, inversions, backbends, twists, and more, designed to bring you back into balance. You'll learn the 5 Universal Principles of Alignment and energetic loops and spirals of Anusara Yoga, that help to create the optimal alignment for your body in each pose. Rebuild each posture from the ground up with new techniques and an expanded awareness that will take your practice to new depths. Listen to the wisdom of your body, and let spirit move you into an ecstatic posture flow. Deepen your integration through breathing, meditation, chanting, partner work, and group sharing. You'll leave with a revitalized body, a calm mind and an awakened spirit - experiencing the true grace, joy and light the holiday season is meant to bring.

 

Introduction to Anusara Yoga

It is a spiritually uplifting and therapeutic system of yoga that integrates Universal Principles of Alignment and inner body awareness with a celebration of the heart. Anusara means "stepping into the current of Grace."

During this weekend, you will learn the elegant Universal Principles of Alignment and energy loops that provide safe, precise and effective instructions allowing each pose to blossom fully. Through Todd's gentle strength, warmth, and humor, you will be guided through a wide range of transformational postures that will increase your strength, vitality, flexibility and joy. Reconnect to your innate diversity and inner radiance in this fun-filled and energizing weekend. 

 

Snowshoeing & Yoga  
Miles of trails offering exquisite view, animal tracks and snow-covered forests surround Kripalu each winter.  Now you can explore this beauty in a leisurely way-on snowshoes! Snowshoeing, a gentler form of exercise than cross-county skiing, provides the traction you need to get to the places you can't reach by simply hiking in snow.  Yoga before your walks will support ease of movement; afterward, it promotes relaxations.  Guided meditations will enhance your receptivity to the wisdom of nature.  If you love yoga and outdoor winter sports, youâll love this program.  

Note:  Equipment can be rented for $25 for the weekend.  It must be reserved in advance of your arrival.  If there is insufficient snow at Kripalu, we will drive to snow-covered trails at a higher elevation 30 minutes away.

Restorative Yoga:  Deep Release Through Total Support 
When the body is fully supported, it will naturally let go, releasing deeply held tensions.  Restorative yoga, the yoga of non-doing, focuses on effortlessness and ease.  In this practice, the body is fully supported with pillows, blankets, ties and chairs.  These props provide the safety and comfort of total support, enabling you to relax into a natural state of balance. During the weekend, youâll practice a set of restorative postures, complemented with gentle stretching, breathing and meditation, and take home healing poses you can do anytime.
